Position: Graphic Designer (Multiple Positions Available!)

Time Commitment: Depends on the project, but maximum will be 5-10 hours a week.

Position Overview: We are looking for creative, fun people that will help keep the WFTDA looking great. Our group creates social media shares, update important documents, and create other items as requested for other committees within the WFTDA. This is a great opportunity for someone to build their graphic design portfolio as well.

Mandatory Skills:
You must have a strong background in document layout, ad design, program/magazine layout, social media graphics, and/or website design. For this position you will need to have your own computer, with access to InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (the version doesn’t matter, just let us know what you have and we can save down. Most things are done in Creative Cloud).  We will communicate and assign projects through Freedcamp, email and Slack (so you will need to create a free account once hired).

Desired Qualifications:
-Strong graphic design background
-Familiar with both digital and print media design
-Respond to emails and Freedcamp posts in a timely manner
-Willing to learn and adapt to WFTDA brand standards
-Understanding of the WFTDA audiences (Skaters/Members and Public) and an ability to adapt materials accordingly whether it be for print or electronic materials

General Responsibilities:
The biggest responsibility is being able to work on projects when needed and to be able to work within tight deadlines. Some of the projects in the past have included the WFTDA Style Guide, business cards, advertisements, Tournament Sport Information Booklets, Tournament program pages, social media shares, web graphics, logos and documents (such as The Rules of Flat Track Roller Derby, Officiating Certification docs, Officiating Standards docs), and other fun things!

Specific Responsibilities:
As a member of our group, you will work with the Creative Chair, Marketing Officer, Director of Marketing and Communications and other staff to develop design solutions. You will also confer with other Pillar Chairs, Officers and staff as applicable to discuss requirements and concepts to coordinate creative activities. As you work on layouts and other design creative, you will have fun, do great work, and be open to multiple revisions (as working with many moving parts means content changes).
